Garage Floor Leveling
Two things cause garage floors to sink over time. First, the weight of vehicles pressing on the same spots compresses the soil below the slab. Concrete Void Filling
A slab can look perfectly fine on the surface while having no support underneath it. Voids form when soil washes away from beneath a slab, when clay dries and pulls back, or when old tree roots break down and leave gaps in the ground. A slab sitting over a void is under stress every time someone walks or drives on it. It will eventually crack or drop suddenly. We use Sika Injection-451 for crack repair. This is a low-viscosity two-component epoxy resin that meets ASTM C881 Type I Grade 1 standards and cures with a tensile strength of 7,500 psi. We inject it using a ,dual-cartridge gun set to a 2-to-1 A-to-B mix ratio. That ratio is required for the product to meet its ASTM specification. The resin bonds to both walls of the crack and restores the slab's strength across the break. For control joints and expansion joints, we use a backer rod with a flexible polyurethane sealant that allows the joint to move with the concrete instead of cracking under it.
Crack repair on public concrete surfaces is evaluated against ACI 224.1R-07, the standard guide for evaluating and repairing cracks in concrete structures. Sacramento County Public Works accepts crack repairs using Sacramento County Improvement Standards Chapter 6, Section 6.4,as the baseline criteria for public infrastructure slab work. During injection, we monitor the gap at the pool coping using a feeler gauge set with a reading range of 0.001 to 0.025 inches. This lets us stop the lift at exactly the right point so the panel is flush and the gap is fully closed.

How the Process Works
